What course do I need to work in real estate in NSW? 

To work in real estate in New South Wales, you need to complete the Assistant Agent Course (Certificate of Registration) and then apply to NSW Fair Trading for your certificate. 

What is an Assistant Agent? 

It’s the entry-level role in real estate in NSW. Assistant Agents support licensed real estate agents in daily operations, helping them gain industry experience while working towards a Class 2 licence. 

How long do I have to complete the course? 

You have up to 6 months from the time you receive your login details. But since the course is self-paced, you can complete it faster depending on your availability and experience. 

Are there any exams? 

No exams. The course includes 3 sets of open-book assessments via our user-friendly online portal. You’ll receive full support from trainers whenever you need help. 

How do I get my certificate after finishing the course? 

Once you finish the course, you apply through NSW Fair Trading. They’ll review your application and issue your Assistant Agent Certificate of Registration if you meet all requirements. 

What happens after I complete the course? 

You can start working in real estate once NSW Fair Trading approves your registration. You must work under the supervision of a Class 1 licensed agent and cannot act independently.
